It started with a Tuesday afternoon I'll never forget. I was in the middle of back to back client sessions, infrastructure reviews, cloud deployments, the kind of work that doesn't pause, and I realised I had nothing at home to eat. Not because there were no stores nearby. There were plenty. But getting to them, waiting in queues, moving from one to another because no single store had everything I needed. That was an hour I didn't have.

I started ordering through whatever was available. The experience was consistently frustrating. Delivery took too long, the coverage didn't reach my neighbourhood properly, and the few times it worked, the fees made no sense for a short distance. I was paying a premium to get groceries from a store that was sometimes less than ten minutes away.

What bothered me more than the inconvenience was the gap I kept seeing. Stores are everywhere. Every neighbourhood has a shop, a market, a vendor. The supply was always there. What was missing was the last mile connection, a reliable, fast way to get what's already close to you, to your door, without the friction.

I'm an engineer by trade. I build infrastructure for banks, design systems that have to work at scale, under pressure, with no room for failure. I started asking: why can't grocery delivery in Nigeria work the same way? Reliable, trackable, built properly from the ground up?

That question became Errandy. We started hyperlocal, one zone, a small team, and a commitment to doing it right rather than doing it fast. Not shipping from distant warehouses.
